Chrome extension install

The Chrome extension lives in a separate repo and installs via the Chrome Web Store. It exposes one keyboard shortcut and one popup.

Install

Chrome Web Store → search distro → Add. On first launch it asks for your authentication token, which you can copy from Settings → Integrations → Chrome extension.

Capture

Select text on any page, then hit ⌘⇧D (Mac) or Ctrl⇧D (Windows/Linux). A dark popup slides in with the selected text pre-filled plus the page URL as a reference. Edit if you want, hit Capture. Idea lands in your most-recent app's inbox.

Without a selection

Same shortcut, no text selected → the popup captures just the page title + URL + your freeform note. Handy for "I want to remember this article exists."

Offline capture

The extension queues captures locally if you're offline. They sync when you're back online. The popup shows a "queued" state so you know.

Target app

Dropdown in the popup lets you pick the target app per capture. Default is your most recent. Persistent per-tab if you're browsing related content.
