Weekly reviews that actually work

A 15-minute Friday routine that turns a week of posts into a concrete next-week plan.

The daily loop is where the work happens. The weekly review is where the learning happens. Skip it and you're just banking hours without compounding knowledge.

When

Friday afternoon is the default. distro sends a weekly digest email (configurable in Settings → Cadence) with the week's top/bottom posts and any new patterns. Read it, then spend 15 minutes in the app.

The review steps

  1. Scan published — look at everything that shipped this week. Which two did best? Which two didn't land? (2 minutes)
  2. Read post-mortems — open the 4 most-extreme posts (top 2 + bottom 2). Read each summary. Note anything surprising. (5 minutes)
  3. Check patterns — any new patterns this week? Any old patterns that shifted confidence? (2 minutes)
  4. Plan one experiment — based on the patterns, pick ONE specific experiment for next week. Something falsifiable. "Try 3 numeric-hook LinkedIn posts" is good. "Post more" is bad. (3 minutes)
  5. Seed the experiment — create 1 idea in Inbox with the experiment noted as a tag. Next week you'll be reminded. (3 minutes)

What not to do

Don't re-evaluate every single post. Don't rewrite old drafts. Don't extend the review to an hour — the review is for planning, not content creation. If you find yourself writing during the review, you've lost the plot.

One experiment at a time

Two simultaneous experiments contaminate each other. One experiment per week, even if it feels slow. Four experiments per month is a lot of real learning over a year.
