Quickstart — your first 10 minutes

distro is organized around one loop: capture → evaluate → draft → ship → learn. Your first ten minutes should touch every station once. Everything else can wait.

1. Sign up

Go to distro.digital/signup and choose Google or GitHub. We don't ask for a credit card. OAuth is the only option for now — no passwords, no magic links to paste.

2. Claim your handle

Pick a username. This becomes your public profile (distro.digital/<username>). Use lowercase letters, numbers, dashes, or underscores. 3–30 characters. You can change this later from Settings.

3. Connect an AI provider (optional but recommended)

distro is BYOK — bring your own key. Paste an Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, or Groq key. We test it with a 1-token request and store it encrypted. If you skip this step, the evaluation and draft features will run in stub mode until you add one later.

4. Drop three writing samples

Paste 1–3 pieces of your own writing (tweets, LinkedIn posts, Slack messages — anything at least 20 characters). We analyze them in the background to calibrate your voice. This is what makes later drafts sound like you rather than a LinkedIn guru.

5. Add your first app

An "app" is any project you're distributing — a SaaS, a newsletter, a Chrome extension. Name, tagline, audience, goal. The flow takes 8–12 minutes. At the end we generate a tailored distribution plan based on what you said.

6. Land on Today

Every morning, Today shows you a short checklist for this app — typically 15 minutes of work. Capture one idea, evaluate it, draft one platform variant, copy, ship. That's the whole loop.

Do that once. Then do it again tomorrow. The streak counter starts on day one and gets slightly evil around day seven.
