Ways to capture ideas
Six surfaces, one inbox. What each one is best for and how to set them up.
You can't evaluate what you didn't capture, so we made capture nearly frictionless. Six surfaces all drop into the same inbox column of your pipeline.
Manual (web)
Floating capture button in the top-right of any app surface. Title + body. Hotkey C opens it globally. Use this when you're already in the app.
Telegram
Message @DistroDigitalBot and every text becomes an idea. See Telegram bot setup for the linking flow. This is the fastest capture surface — thumb-native on mobile.
Voice
Record a 15–60 second voice note directly in the web app or from Telegram. We transcribe it with your AI provider and store both the audio and the transcript. Best for walks, drives, shower thoughts.
Chrome extension
Installs from the Chrome extension page. Keyboard shortcut captures the selected text plus the page URL. Useful for "this tweet gave me an idea" moments.
Share sheet (mobile PWA)
Once you add staging.distro.digital to your home screen as a PWA, it registers as a share target. Share a URL, tweet, or YouTube video from any iOS/Android app, pick distro, done.
Email forward
Forward any email to capture-{userId}@distro.digital. The subject becomes the title; the body becomes the body. The userId is shown in Settings.
Auto-tagging
Every captured idea gets a source tag (voice, telegram, chrome, share, email, manual) and, if you have an AI provider connected, a tone tag auto-detected by the evaluator (hook, story, hot-take, data, personal).
